we are not able to reinsatall msde in the same server..we are getting the
errors. we uninstaaled the msde and using add/remove programs and also
deleted instance of microsoft sql server folder.. still we can't access the
server from the client machines.. got the error "server does not exist". how
do we solve this problem/

You have specified that there is more than one issue.
1. You cant re-install MSDE
2. You cant connect to it.
Can you access SQL from the server itself?
How are you trying to connect to the server from a client?

|||we were not able to connect to the local machine too. first we got login
error even if we set the password . . server was working for the last 8
months ..all of a sudden we got the error catalog information could not be
found" we figured out that in the server the TCP\IP got disabled (we don't
know how)..we downloaded sql server express and its inface had the choice to
enable\disable TCP\IP ..i believe that was the problem..
