I am having difficulty registering to a newly installed server.
The server resides in a remote location.
The server is using mixed mode. I set a user up on the server named
SQLMANAGER with admin rights and also set up a user (SQLMANAGER) in SQL with
the same rights.
Whe I attempt to register the server I receive the following message :
"server does not exist or access denied"
I have 4 other servers which I have registered sucessfully, but none on this
segment of the network.
The IP am registering from is 105.1.13.206 and the server IP is 105.1.2.47.
I checked the log on the server and it is listening on port 1433.
Suggestions please!
Are you trying to register by server name or IP?

|||I have tried both.
The server does not come up in the server list so I entered it in manually.
On the server, I am able register the server to itself with no problem. I
am even able to register the server to the server that is failing to connect
to it.
