Relationships in Management Studio Express connected to SQL Server Compact Edition

Hello ,
Is possible to specify reationships between tables on SQL Server Compact Edition database in Management Studio Express ?

I can connect to database file , add tables, add data , but I dont't found the right methot to specify reationships as with SQL Server Express.

Any ideas?

You have to specify the relationships in the query analyzer, like this:

ALTER TABLE MyOrders ADD FK_CustOrder FOREIGN KEY (CustID) REFERENCES MyCustomers(CustID)|||Thanks Erik for the information. ReInstalling Katmai.

I cannot reinstall Katmai.
Somehow, I created a situation where Management Studio could not connect to reporting services. Being unable to diagnose why, I decided to uninstall and reinstall. I had installed everything. After running about 10 uninstalls, I went to C:/Program Files/ and blasted the whole Microsoft SQL Server tree. I went to the registry and did the same thing in HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Microsoft SQL Server.
I rebooted. The error message: An instance with the same name is already installed on this computer. I'm guessing the setup program detected MSSQLSERVER in some registry key, and not another instance, but if I knew which one, I wouldn't be posting to this forum.

It may be that Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Services has an SQL Server(InstanceName) entry.

Reinstall SQL 2005 Management Studio

We are running SQL 2005 Standard Server. Apparently our server was slightly
"damaged" and SQL 2005 Management Studio is no longer installed.
How can I re-intall this? I have tried reloading SQL to no avail. I am not
seeing it as an option. I am selecting client tools during the installation.
SQL Server is running as Dynamics GP is functional.
I am wondering if it is installed and the shortcut is missing. Can anyone
tell me the executable program name and the location so I can check this.
All help greatly appreciated.Jerry

You can use enterprise manager from sql 2005 to administer both sql 2000 and sql 2005 databases.

I doubt that the enterprise manager from sql 2000 would work with a sql 2005 database.

here's a story:

i have bothe Enterprise manager and management studio on the same box

what ever i register on the management studio gets registered to EM.

but the problem is i cant open version 9 Db on EM even it i see it on the list of server

We just set up our first server with SS 2005, and I am getting familiar with the Management Console layout and features. Can someone confirm for me if I can register my SS 2000 databases within the 2005 Management Console and work within that environment on those systems, or whether that will have any consequences or cause harm to the 2000 systems?

Yes you can, and SQL Server 2000 is fully supported as being administered from SQL Server 2005 management studio.|||

It is supported to manage SQL2000 in SQL 2005 Management Studio. However,
if you only need to restore SQL2000 database to SQL2005, I recommend you
backup the SQL2000 database in the SQL2000 Enterprise Manager and copy the
backup file tot he SQL 2005 machine and then restore the backup file to
SQL2005.
I do not see much benefit to manage SQL2000 in Management Studio in this
case.
If you really need to register SQL2000 in Management Studio, please verify
that you can connect to the SQL 2000 from the 2005 machine.
1. Ping the 2000 server from the 2005 box and see if it succeeds
2. Telnet to the particular port and see if it works:
Telnet ServerName 1433
NOTE: Please run the Server Network Utility from the 2000 box to
determine the port SQL Server is listening. It might not be 1433 if it is a
named instance.
3. Create a UDL file to connect to the 2000 and see if it works.
- You can create a .txt file on the desktop, change its extension to
UDL and double-click it to launch the Data Link dialog box
If the step 1 & 2 do not work, you need to contact your network team and
see if there is any problem in the Network.
